I speak English fluently so for those in need of a wedding ceremony in English I am highly available. There is an English version of the Swedish Humanists' wedding procedure as you can read below. However, in the announcement part, a Swedish officiant needs to pronounce the couple married in the Swedish language, for the ritual to be considered valid.
Marriage Vows
Marriage is an expression of a voluntary union between
independent individuals.
Independence and union are the cornerstones of marriage.
You have a wish to get married to one another. Marriage is built on love and
trust.
By entering marriage, you promise to respect and support each other.
As spouses, you are two independent individuals who can draw strength from your
shared bond.
The Questions
Since you have declared your intention to marry each other, I ask:
Do you, N.N.1, wish to share your life with N.N.2 in a marriage based on love,
equality, and mutual respect?
(Answer: Affirmative.)
Do you, N.N.2, wish to share your life with N.N.1 in a marriage based on love,
equality, and mutual respect?
(Answer: Affirmative.)
Ritual
The form of the ritual is voluntary. The couple may now exchange rings, hold
hands, toast with champagne, give each other a flower, wrap a scarf around each
other's joined hands, drop a drop of blood into a bowl, mix differently coloured
sand, recite vows, or perform other rituals of a humanist nature.
Announcement
Jag förklarar er nu för gifta. (👈This must be declared in Swedish for the
ceremony to be legal.) I now pronounce you married.
(Extra: “You may now kiss each other for the first
time as a married couple”
This is the standard moment for the first mutual kiss as a married couple if
the couple so chooses.)
As you move forward in life and return to your
everyday routine, remember the desire for unity, the love for one another, and
the mutual respect you have felt in this moment, which has brought you here.
Live well, treat each other kindly, and build an equal and loving community
together.
Let me wish you happiness and prosperity in your marriage.
Conclusion
The couple will choose, together with the celebrant, an appropriate conclusion.
